We have caterpillars! We've been observing our caterpillars as they grow and reading lots of non-fiction books to learn about them. We journaled something that caterpillars/butterflies can do.  They are now in the pupa stage. We are patiently waiting as they hatch :) 

We created pattern "orguas" (caterpillars).

In Spanish, we continue to build our Spring vocabulary words. We use sign language with each word, as a strategy to help recall vocabulary.

- la mariquita (ladybug)
- la mariposa (butterfly)
- el abejorro (bumble bee)
- la oruga (caterpillar)
- el conejo (rabbit)
- el sol (sun)
- la flor (flower)

This week, we drew four different kinds of Spring insects, of different numbers. We are working on adding sentences in English and Spanish, using some new sight words, like, "I see..."

In math, we made ice cream scoops with combinations of 10, using 2 or 3 different flavours - chocolate, vainilla (vanilla) and fresa (strawberry). 

We built ramps, using materials in the classroom, and experimented with 3D shapes that roll and slide.

We've been learning more and more about Indigenous peoples' connection to nature. We have learned that the buffalo is a symbol of respect. This week, we went on a Spring (primavera) walk around the school. 

In math, we made "mariquitas" (ladybugs), demonstrating three different number combinations for 10, using ladybug spots. 

We are learning some Spring vocabulary words. So far, we have been practicing:

- el abejorro (bumble bee
