This week we have been discussing Indigenous peoples' connection to nature and the land. We journaled something that Mother Earth gives us.

We continue to practice the weather in Spanish:
- está soleado (it is sunny)
- está nublado (it is cloudy)
- está lluvioso (it is rainy)
- está ventoso (it is windy)
- está nevando (it is snowing)

We completed tulip art, using paint and fork prints. Look at the beautiful Spring art below!

This week, we journaled our favourite season. We continue to work on simple sentence writing, being aware of beginning our sentences with an uppercase, spacing between words, and using punctuation.

In math, we created pizzas using three different toppings, with 10 pieces in total on the pizza. The children had to show their combination of toppings in two different ways.

For Earth day, we created an Earth, using coffee filters, markers and water. Check it out!

We have been practicing the follow sight words: the, in, it, is, a.

This week, we graphed our favourite pizza toppings. We then put the results in order according to popularity. The children were given the words in Spanish to label each topping, using their knowledge of letter sounds and some letters in Spanish.

We are learning the seasons song in Spanish, and talking about what Spring looks like. We illustrated ourselves in a way that depicts "Yo tengo calor" (I am hot) and "Yo tengo frío" (I am cold).

We shared and journaled something we did over the Spring break. The children continue to use their knowledge of letter sounds to add "kid spelling" to their pictures. We are being mindful of using lowercase letters.

We've been continuing with fruit vocabulary, including the colour of the fruit we like. For example, the children have been saying, "Me gusta la manzana roja... Me gusta el limón amarillo" (I like red apples... I like yellow lemons).

We are exploring ways to make 10. This week, we used two or three dice to draw as many combinations of 10 as possible.

A reminder that there is no school on Friday, April 7 (Good Friday), as well as Monday, April 10 (PD day).
