We rotated through some math and literacy centers. We built a granja (farm), played a CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) Snakes and Ladders word game, and an I Spy farm counting game.

We journaled where and what the butterflies might be doing now that they are back in nature.

The butterflies are: sucking nectar... laying eggs.

We created watercolour and sharpie "dientes de león" (dandelion) art!

  What an exciting week! Our butterflies hatched! We released them today (Wednesday)

This week, the children went on a 5 senses nature hunt.

We read Todd Parr's, "The Feel Good Book," and children journaled what makes them feel good.

We observed and sketched the chrysalis'. We are so excited for them to hatch. It should be any day now!

We have caterpillars! We've been observing our caterpillars as they grow and reading lots of non-fiction books to learn about them. We journaled something that caterpillars/butterflies can do.  They are now in the pupa stage. We are patiently waiting as they hatch :) 

We created pattern "orguas" (caterpillars).

In Spanish, we continue to build our Spring vocabulary words. We use sign language with each word, as a strategy to help recall vocabulary.

This week, we drew four different kinds of Spring insects, of different numbers. We are working on adding sentences in English and Spanish, using some new sight words, like, "I see..."

In math, we made ice cream scoops with combinations of 10, using 2 or 3 different flavours - chocolate, vainilla (vanilla) and fresa (strawberry). 

We built ramps, using materials in the classroom, and experimented with 3D shapes that roll and slide.
